Pyro Measurements Engineer (Corning NY)

CAC is looking for an Measurements Engineer with good project managment experience and who has strong experience in pyro measuring technology or infared specifics as it relates to glass. Candidates with experience with similiar technology and science on other materials would be considered. The incumbent will have an understanding of the theories of operation for such tehcnologies, compensation of errors in processing design, good understanding of envronmental influences on such technologies and heat signitures. Good analytical skills in regards to glass/material density, sensor temperature etc. Incumbent will also have an elecectrical background for calibration, electrical interfacing eg (4-20 ma input, digital input, serial, ethernet etc. This assignment will be 3-6 months with international travel.
Additional Duties will include the following:
Generation of detailed Stage V service documentation (PM and calibration)
-Good project management/documenting skills
-Effectively manage the project to stage 5
Packaging improvements to improve maintenance and accuracy
-Port enhancements (size, slope, purge, etc)
-Quick connects, azimuth repeatability, Water jacket temperature control
-Streamlined calibration
-Thorough control of sensors' thermomechanics/optoelectronics
Perform tests on 9913 to validate improvements
-Develop reliable solutions to meet goals of 9913 development FDM and consequently
of DE (large Gens),
- Effectively interact with team members
-See a bigger picture how IR sensors interrelate to the holistic process controls
of forming
Scanning Pyrometers
- Develop feature extraction capabilities
-Develop thermal management methodology including scanning pyros, offline
and online ASMGs
