CAC Supplied general and detailed integration information to engineering staff. Direct electricians and designers on wiring and schematics. Modified existing schematics using Workflow drawing database and Acad 2000. Proposed new and efficient HMI and PLC programming where needed. Program and modify existing Fix32 screens. Successfully integrate new Thermocode series 2 barcode labeler into manufacturing system. Generate strings needed in CodeSoft program (Labeler Software). Removed existing double labeler operation and replace with one labeler operation. Reflect in all code, wiring and schematics. Assist in all wiring, integration, programming, and ASCII strings deemed necessary for proper function of system. Assist in validation procedures and advise validation team when necessary. Optimize communications of HMI and PLC databases in coordination with new barcode labeler.
The overall function of the project team was to increase the production output of a medical manufacturing line. The team identified key elements and process bottle necks that slowed production and lowered quality. Scheduled tasks where made and problems assessed. CAC gave key information and technical consultation to several electricians and management . This information included blueprint modifications, screen changes, new circuit load analysis, troubleshooting problem assessments, mechanical recommendations etc. Modified Fix Intellution HMI screens, and programmed SLC504 PLCs, code was written that compiled strings later sent to thermo barcode printer. This printer was controlled by new HMI screens. These new screens enabled pressure, position, font, lot # and product codes needed to be changed in the process periodically. Electrical trouble shooting of various devices where also conducted with attempts to meet full production requirements. Finally validation was conducted to qualify all new devices and changes for upgraded system.
